Over the last two months I have tried a variety of dairy free foods that are too delicious to not share! However, I will preface this post with some honesty. I HATE COCONUT! I have always hated coconut and I can really only tolerate it in very few ways (hello, Starbucks Caramel Macchiato with a splash of coconut milk.) Some of these products are coconut based but don't have a strong coconut flavor. If they did, I wouldn't eat it!
This past weekend, my husband and I took our weekly essential grocery trip at Fresh Thyme Market in Toledo. We normally shop at Kroger/Meijer/Walmart but we were out of a few of the dairy free staples that we cannot get anywhere else! Some of the products here are found in most grocery stores. If it is hard to find, I will let you know! I am also attaching links to coupons because we all know that plant based alternatives are not alternatively cheaper!

**I haven't tried the smoked gouda yet!
1. Silk Oat Yeah Milk + Coffee Creamer
This is by far the most creamiest milk substitute that I have found. I have yet to find it in Walmart but I do know it exists in Kroger & Meijer. I also have found it in Giant Eagle Marketplace. If you are fancy, I am sure you can find it in I like to use it in cooking "cream based" sauces or in a simple bowl of cereal. The creamer tastes just like an oatmeal cookie in a cup. I pour about 2-3 tablespoons into a cup and use the frother on my Ninja Coffee Bar Coffee Maker to thicken it up. Pour over hot or cold coffee and enjoy your morning cup-of-joe! https://silk.com/plant-based-products/oatmilk/oatmilk/

This coffee creamer is truly one of the healthiest that I have seen.
1A. Silk Plant Based Half & Half
If a recipe calls for half & half, this is the replacement for you! My husband and I cannot taste a difference when we use it in our cooking.

Also, it only has 15 calories per 2TBSP serving. Normal half and half is about 40 calories per 2TBSP serving. If you are concerned with calories but not dairy free, it is a perfect substitution.
1B. Silk Almond Milk Yogurt
If you really love yogurt and cannot live without it, this is definitely for you. They also have a coconut milk based yogurt but, as mentioned previously, coconut isn't my jam.
2. Good Belly Probiotics
This brand has both dairy & dairy free products so please read the labels carefully if you are not familiar! When my stomach was normalizing, I decided to add the Good Belly Probiotic Juice Drink and Plus Shot into my morning routine. They taste amazing and would also be a great addition to a smoothie. The company advertises and offers a great coupon online. One carton of the juice drink lasts almost a week! They also have a feature on their website where you can search for the products in stores near you. I was able to find the products in Walmart, Giant Eagle, Kroger, and Meijer.
3. Country Crock Plant Butter
Plant butter has worked its way into most grocery stores in the recent months. Having tried a few different brands, I prefer Country Crock. There are three different types: olive oil, avocado oil, and almond oil. They come in sticks and there is a spreadable version for those who enjoy a little on their morning toast! Sign up for a coupon on their website. https://www.countrycrock.com/products/plant-butter
4. Follow Your Heart Parmesan Cheese
This cheese tastes just like it should! It needs a higher temperature than normal cheese in order to melt properly, but it is delicious. I have used it with spaghetti, "cream" sauces, on pizza, and in stuffed peppers. Please use their product finder before going out and searching because it is incredibly hard to find in Northwest, Ohio. This is one of the main reasons we went to Fresh Thyme because it is the only store in an hour radius that has this!
5. Simple Truth Plant Based Chocolate Chip Cookies
Right before my dairy intolerance increased, I was really enjoying eating the edible cookie dough that was released by Nestlé Tollhouse. Luckily, the Simple Truth Plant Based Cookies can be eaten raw or baked. They taste just like any other break-and-bake cookie does. I have seen other brands offer a plant based cookie but have not tried them...yet! Simple Truth is exclusively at Kroger so keep a look out for other brands, like Sweet Lorens at Walmart.
6. So Delicious Ice Cream
The name says it all!!! Pictured above is the salted caramel cashew milk ice cream bar. My only complaint is that they aren't big enough...so I end up eating 2 because they are that good. I have also tried their cashew milk and oat milk based pints. Sign up for emails on the link below to get coupons! https://sodeliciousdairyfree.com/
7. Daiya Shreds
Daiya was the first brand of cheese that I tried and I was pleasantly surprised at how good it was. I tried the mozzarella first, and when I used it on a pizza, I discovered that it melted the best at 425 degrees in my electric oven. It stretched and melted just like regular cheese. I also tried the cheddar shreds in a chicken casserole and it turned out great.
8. Natural Bliss Almond Coffee Creamer
When I can't find my oat milk coffee creamer, this is my next best option. I have only found the vanilla or the caramel in my local stores. I do see that they have a new whipped buttercream flavor that I can hopefully get my hands on soon! https://www.coffeemate.com/products/natural-bliss/
There you have it! Let me know if you decide to try any of these products and how you like them. Even better, let me know if there is a product that I haven't tried that you love.
